IELTS PREPARATION LEVELS
What is IELTS?
IELTS, International English Language Testing System, is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who want to study or work where English is the language of communication.
IELTS is recognised by over 6,000 organisations worldwide, including universities, employers, professional bodies, immigration authorities and other government agencies. For a list of organisations that accept IELTS scores, visit http://bandscore.ielts.org
What is the IELTS Preparation Course?
The IELTS Preparation Course follows a Cambridge University Press curriculum and offers students comprehensive preparation and practice for IELTS examinations. There are two IELTS examinations, one for academic purposes and the second for immigration/employment purposes. The preparation course is designed to prepare students to undertake either the Academic or General Training examination.
Throughout the course students explore the structure of the test paper and look into detail at each skills area tested in the IELTS examination: speaking, reading, writing and listening.
The course develops existing skills, language and exam techniques to help students approach the IELTS examination with confidence.
Students interested in applying for this course need to complete a BLC application form and undertake a placement test. Students must reach intermediate level (minimum requirement) to enrol onto the IELTS Preparation Course.
If your placement test result is below intermediate level, consider registering on a General English Language Course to develop your grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. This way you can work towards undertaking the IELTS Preparation Course in the future.
If you achieve intermediate level or above you will be offered a place on the IELTS Preparation Course.
